How to Set File/Directory Permissions on iPhone

Method 1

Assumption: You have SSH installed on your iPhone & You are connected to a WiFi network.

Required: WinSCP [ Download | Website ]

  1. Open WinSCP.


  2. Login with the following info:
    • Host name   = iPhone IP Address
    • Port number = 22
    • User name   = root
    • Password    = dottie

  3. Navigate to the directory/file you want.

  5. Right click on the file you want to modify its permissions and select Properties.

  6. Write the required permissions value and then click OK.
